Authenticity Certificate

This set of six drinking glasses in a variety of colors is handcrafted with the masterful techniques, materials, and style of Murano glassmaking. After years of visiting the glass workshops of Murano, Terri developed an eye for quality and workmanship. Imagine her surprise when she discovered a workshop just outside Naples, almost eight hours away, which uses the same techniques and materials as a Murano workshop, with identical skill and artistry. The colorful patterns are formed by rolling the molten glass in colorful glass chips before skillfully hand-blowing each piece. However, due to location alone, a set of six glasses costs less than a set of two from Murano. Each glass measures 3.5 inches tall and holds 8 ounces. Handcrafted exclusively for Uno Alla Volta, from the hearts and hands of the artisans.

Handmade goods have cultural significance in almost every subculture and financial class. While the upper echelon may delight in the exclusivity of an object, crafting culture permeates the trendy shops of modern-day, millennial Brooklyn, and led the grassroots, ultra-feminist Riot Grrrl movement of the early 1990s. From punk musicians to polished socialites, an appreciation for handcrafted, one-of-a-kind wares is a common thread that connects us to our humanity. This work reminds us that our fingers can do so much more than just operate machines. It connects us to our cultures, our ancestors, our neighbors, and even strangers from faraway places, just through placing a single object between our palms.
