Our artisans in a seaside village in Nova Scotia begin each whimsical piece as a sketch which is then sculpted in clay. The sculpture is used to make a mold from which each item is cast in lead-free pewter, before being finished and polished entirely by hand.
One of my dearest friends from high school sent this to me for Christmas. She's a Spanish interpreter and I am a sign language interpreter. It is an absolutely gorgeous piece, what a wonderful reminder of our life long friendship and love for each other.
