Impressionist-Era Garden Burnout Kimono

This kimono looked perfect in the catelog/on-line.The colors were bright and cheery and it looked perfect to throw over a casual/semi casual outfit. But it was total opposite. The colors were much more dull than in the picture. The model in the picture was tall and maybe that was the difference (although I am 5’7”). The fit was awful. I thought maybe because it was so wrinkled it was making bulges where I didn’t want them. So I steamed it and still…. My husband kept telling me it was too big. It was baggy and totally unflattering. I even tried pinning it up on each side. No such luck. Will be returning.

The garment colors are not as near vibrant in real life as they are in the catalog. That was the first disappointment. Secondly, the kimono sleeves are sewn at an odd angle making it uncomfortable. While it was flattering on the model, it wasn’t on me. Dull colors, uncomfortable sleeves and an unflattering fit made it returnable for me. I’m truly disappointed as I was looking forward to wearing the garment. This is my only return after many purchases with UNO Alla Volta.
