In her studio near Venice's Rialto Bridge, Sarah employs the Venetian traditions of collage and patchwork to handcraft unique artworks for the home using only locally sourced materials. Patterned fabrics, unique trimmings, and shimmering pieces of glass are assembled onto a wooden base to create each vibrant mosaic butterfly. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, it wasn't long before Sarah was drawn to the world of traditional Venetian mask making, and began crafting her own unique masks and wall art from all of the most important things one could look for in Venice: papiermâché, fine fabrics, feathers, precious trimmings, and Murano glass pieces adorned with colorful millefiori. In 2007, her love for the craft lead her to open her own workshop in the heart of Venice, where she continues handcrafting traditional masks and wall hangings which burst with both personality and color.
