Each piece begins with the study of the live animal portrayed. A wax prototype is made by the artist, detailing the special features of the species. Cast in sterling silver, each figure is checked by hand, sculpted smooth and polished. The enameling process involves a technique of meticulously hand-painting layers of overlapping glazes onto the silver, giving each of the creatures even more depth, definition, and lots of character.
