On the famed Isle of Murano, our glass artisan Lorena keeps the art of lampworking alive in her family's seaside workshop. Each of the beads for this graceful bolero necklace is individually handmade over a hot flame before being hand-strung. Beads with swirls of ivory and grey make this necklace a work of art, while gold findings and faceted crystals add a touch of shimmer and shine. On Venice’s famed isle of Murano, glassworking traditions have been passed down through families, generation after generation. Lorena learned the art of lampworking from her grandmother, as the torch was, quite literally, passed down to her. Today, her business remains a family affair as Lorena’s sons, her sister, and even her mother work right by her side.
