''Chestnut Mare'' Horse Vase of Hand Blown Glass

To create each ''Chestnut Mare'' horse vase, Paul, our self-taught master glass blower, carefully shapes layers of neutral-toned molten glass using a blowpipe and hand tools. He then rolls the vase over a stencil covered with tiny granules of glass dust to create each horse image. Paul, the newest glassmaker to the Uno Alla Volta family, takes inspiration from nature to create this dramatically-patterned vase in his family-run studio. No two will be exactly alike. ''Chestnut Mare'' horse vase measures approximately 3.5 inches in diameter by 6 inches tall.

John & Bonnie

Our artisans in a seaside village in Nova Scotia begin each whimsical piece as a sketch which is then sculpted in clay. The sculpture is used to make a mold from which each item is cast in lead-free pewter, before being finished and polished entirely by hand. Each year, they devote ten percent of their profits to charitable causes.
