From the Hearts & Hands of Artisans
Russian Father Christmas Sculpture
Availability: Almost gone!
In her workshop not far from Moscow, Olga begins each Father Christmas sculpture by meticulously hand-carving the shape of Father Christmas from hand-selected basswood. She then brings each cheery figure alive with an exquisitely painted face and a robe adorned with golden details and a painstaking wintery scene featuring St. Basil's Cathedral in times of old, each sculpture made exclusively for Uno Alla Volta. Built in the 16th century at the behest of Ivan the Terrible, St. Basil's Cathedral sits at the geometric center of Moscow on Red Square. Its iconic form features multiple domes and spires decorated in extraordinary patterns and details that attest to the building's, and the city's, colorful past. Each Father Christmas sculpture, a limited edition of only 50, is unique and masterfully crafted, one at time, form the hearts and hands of artisans. Expect subtle differences in the paintings. All, however, prominently feature Russia's treasured cathedral and use of the same color palette. Father Christmas sculpture measures approx. 9in. tall.
