PRODUCT STORY
On a journey to Umbria, our friend Lisa met members of the Lazzari family, who have developed a technique that re-creates great works of art on plaster in the style of Renaissance fresco painters. First they mix mortar according to a 15th-century formula, then coat it with a thin layer of plaster. While the plaster is still wet, they transfer an image of the artwork, then artists hand paint the design uno alla volta. Using authentic materials, colors and finishes, the Lazzaris produce this beautiful peacock fresco, which bears a hook crafted from old iron, and carries a certificate of origin guaranteeing the workmanship and materials. 5" x 6.5".
