PRODUCT STORY
Large Horn Dresser Comb There are no gentler nor more luxurious combs for your hair than those in our collection. Rich in keratin, the same material as your hair and fingernails this large french horn dresser comb produces no static electricity. Satiny smooth and sensual to the touch, they glide effortlessly through the hair.
Nearly a lost art in this plastic age of ours, the working of horn is a kept alive by a handful of European artisans. Since the earliest times, man has made combs and utensils from horn - malleable when heated, hard enough to create durable, long lasting tools.
Our horn combs are crafted by artisans in the French town of Campredon - perhaps the last such masters in what was once the European capital of horn working. The artisans heat raw horn over open flame to a plastic consistency. Flattened and smoothed, the horn is then shaped. Cutting the teeth is especially intricate - great care is taken to ensure strength, consistency and comfort. Finally, each comb is sanded, polished and buffed, no two exactly alike in color or pattern. Each delivered to you in a hand-sewn, red calfskin case. Dresser comb measures 1.5" x 7.25".

Best winter comb
I have purchased several of these combs for myself and my daughters. They are beautiful in appearance and truly live up to the description in the catalog. No static ever. Absolutely phenomenal in the winter, particularly with long hair, but just as pleasurable to use the rest of the year. The leather case is not only a nice touch but is durable in the vanity drawer and makes it easy to find the comb and keep it protected from damage.

A Problem
Love these combs. I have a small version that is wonderful. However, I ordered this large one, and it was rough on the ends of the teeth. Customer service was very kind and shipped out another, however, it was not much smoother, and within 2 weeks, the teeth on it had broken out of one end. I understand that this is a natural substance from which it is made, but that is a lot of money for something that can not be used. One might think that I may have gripped it too hard and made the teeth break out, but, I have diminished strength in my hands and can't grip anything with strength.
