Hand-Marbled Silk Scarf

An art form dating back to twelfth century Europe, marbling is accomplished by floating ink on a thickened surface of water, then combing the ink into a pattern. Though typically applied to paper, our Virginia artisan chose silk as her canvas to create this intricate design. Only one print is possible per inking, making each pattern unique. 11" x 60".
