Breathtaking to behold, this exquisitely detailed copper owl wall sculpture take shape layer upon layer in the blue Ridge Mountain studio of our Virginia metal worker. Seeing nature's magnificent wild animals in her mind's eye, she works to recreate them by handsawing sheet after sheet of heavy gauge copper. After soldering these layers together, she soaks each piece in an acid bath and uses a blow torch to bring out the rich colors and patterns - no two ever alike - before affixing a hanger and felt pads to the back of each finished piece. 7.75 x 8.
