For nearly 30 years, Francesco has been handcrafting delightful glass sculptures on Venice's famed isle of Murano. To create this colorful blue fish, he first mouth blows the glass then infuses it with shimmering gold leaf. Each is then molded into shape and fired, no two ever alike. Approximately. 3.5 in. x 4 in.
Murano glass fish I was impressed by the Murano glass fish. The fullness of the colors and the uniqueness of the idea make this item one of a kind! A school of tropical fish now reside on the edge of my bath space! And I picture the glass blower in his art creating each piece with his unique skill and imagination and feeling a pride in his work and I feel so good about supporting that.

Poor quality gold leaf I was excited to see these fish in the catalog. I have a small collection of glass fish, and these looked like they would fit in beautifully. When I received them, I could see that the glass was lovely, in rich, vibrant shades. (I purchased the cobalt and turquoise.) The shapes were detailed and appealing. Unfortunately the gold leaf was erratic. On one side it was patterned and artistic; on the other side for both fish, the gold leaf was splotched, with areas that weren't covered and areas with double coverage. I will unfortunately be returning these fish.
