Each exquisite piece begins with an artist's study of a live bird. Next, a wax prototype is made by the artist, detailing the special feature. Cast in sterling silver, each figure is checked by hand, sculpted smooth and polished. The enameling process involves a technique of meticulously hand painting layers of overlapping glazes onto the silver, giving each of the creatures even more depth, definition, and lots of character.
