PRODUCT STORY
For this raku horse sculpture, our artisan Lindsey begins by hand-sculpting the body from clay. One at a time, muscle groups, leg joints of nails she makes herself, the head, neck and tail are painstakingly added. After a special glaze is added to create the crackle finish, each horse is kiln fired at a low temperature and, while still hot, placed in a mass of combustible materials (such as straw or sawdust) that stain the exposed body. A variety of colors and patterns emerge making each sculpture uniquely your own. Each approximately 6" x 7.5". No two ever alike.

Raku horses!
Outstanding find! Exquisitely crackle finished, interesting stain-color-patina, smallish perhaps, but absolutely and uniquely eye-catching. Thank you Terri for finding it, and thank you Natali in shipping for writing "Enjoy it!" on the packing slip! It's a birthday thing for my wife next month, and I can guarantee you as former horse owners, we will certainly enjoy it!

Raku horse
This unique and beautiful sculpture is absolutely amazing to behold. It now sits on my mantle on display, a highlight in a room dedicated to equine art. As a horse lover, I love the "action" of both color and sculpture. Though small, it is a very eye catching piece in any setting.
