Lindsey begins by hand sculpting the body from clay. One at a time, she adds muscle groups: the head, neck and tail, and legs formed around nails she forges herself. After a special glaze is added to create the crackle finish, each sculpture is kiln fired at a low temperature and, while still hot, placed in a mass of combustible material such as straw or sawdust to stain the exposed body. A variety of colors and patterns emerge, making each sculpture uniquely your own. Grey, approx. 10" x 13".
