To create this weighty, dramatic swirl vase, our Georgia glass artisan collects clear molten glass on a pipe then dips it in colorful glass chips and powders which fuse to the hot glass. She works the fluid glass at the end of a metal pipe, gently blowing, inflating the glass to the desired shape, and then anneals it in a kiln for strength. No two will ever be alike.
